First Impressions

I’ve been playing Football Manager 2011 Demo for about a week now & I just wanted to give you my first impressions of some of the new & exciting features.
Contract Negotiations:
Negotiations are now much improved, with a meeting style discussion rather than waiting days for the players agent to come back with his clients demands. This makes singing players a lot more realistic & a lot more fun. There are also a number of new contract clauses...
Revamped Training System:
The training module now boasts more basic training schedules including...
As well as that, there are 14 new individual training focuses where players hone certain areas of there game.

Match Preparation:
I love this addition
The new match preparation area allows you to train your team on special focus areas, like team blend & attack movement for an upcoming fixture. (& don’t worry there’s a defending set pieces focus for those tricky Stoke throw in’s

Improved Interaction:
Communication between the board, backroom & players has all been improved. You can how have private chats with all three and as like the contract negotiations you get an instant response. The bank of questions & responses has also been increased.

Match View:
Personally I'm not a fan of the 3D view in matches, but major improvements may get me to change my mind. There are over 100 new animations such as; new goal celebrations & player emotions, new stadiums, night matches and much more. I was very impressed with the fluidity of the engine & at its likeness to broadcasted football.

Dynamic League Reputation
This new feature means as teams get better & become successful in European competition, the league they play in gets stronger. This means teams in your league are able to attract better players. And players & staff will want to come and join your league.

So there you go, stay tuned for the opening post of my first FM 2011 Season!!

So it Begins!

With the release of Football Manager 2011 just hours away, I thought this would be the perfect time to introduce myself and tell you about my FM experiences.

I'm now 20 years old & have been playing Football Manager for about 5 years. The lure of taking my then yoyo team Birmingham City into Europe was what first got me into the game. Unsurprisingly this was just as hard as it would be in real life (another thing which got me hooked) & my passion to succeed and master the game grew and grew. I must admit at first I was terrible at Football Manager, never taking things seriously enough, and not fully understanding the depths of the game. But with hours of playing time (aprox 2000) behind me, I have come to understand the complexities of the series & how much detail there is deliberate over. The little things made a big difference in this game for sure!

Which bring me to now. I want to share with you my journey through the world of Football Management  with you, & help other people who may be having troubles the same way I had. But most of all this blog is about having fun, & living a dream. That's whats at the heart of the FM series. Giving you the chance to do a job, 99.9% of us will never have the chance to do.

So I leave you now awaiting the release, & I'll post my first days dealings tomorrow!!
